im gona buy some wire for some electronic projects.....?

i am thinking of getting like 10 awg wire but im unsure. some of the projects im trying to do are high voltage. 1 is a home made 1kV stun gun and the others should be like 120-500 volts. all of these are low current. any guide lines on how to pick the right wire?
im sure the stun gun is such low current that any healthy person would just be a bit shocked. but thanks for the concern. either way im not the one using it got it as a request and im gona barrow the circuitry from a throw away cam. (minus the dangerous cap of course)

You might want to have a better idea about your intended use before buying wire. 10 awg is overkill for high voltage low current circuits like stun guns. 10 awg can carry 30 amps when used as building wire according to most building codes and even more in applications where the codes aren't the limiting factor.

In high voltage applications that operate at far lower currents, the insulation voltage rating is amore inportant parameter.
