help with a homemade stun gun?

I built a stun gun out of a camera and it works fantastically. the only problem is that i don't want to use it as a weapon, i want it for a toy to shock my friends, and right now its way to powerful. i would like to cut the power in half by swapping out the capacitor for a smaller one. The current capacitor is "120 uF & 330 Volts" I would like to cut that power in half.

The stored energy is proportional to the capacitance. So a 60 uF 330 v capacitor would give half the stored energy. You can't drop the voltage rating of the capacitor because you are not changing the voltage the circuit produces.

Any other change that you make will be more complicated than changing the capacitor. You will probably find that it is still too potent at half. Try keeping the unit as is but add a resistor in series with the output as large as you can get (at least 10 Megohms) and a very small capacitor say 0.001 uF and see how that works rather than trying to replace the capacitor inside the unit each time.
