What materials do you need to make a stun gun?

I want to make a stun gun... NOT out of a disposable camera. What components do I need? Will a couple capacitors, switches, wires, and a nine volt battery suffice?

Do not bother, it will be a danger to you while building or testing it.

You need to realise that there is no real safe level of electric shock, especially from something that you do not really understand. There seems to be a misunderstanding by many people that you get a shock, it hurts and you have no other side effects. Also there seems to be no understanding that a person may get a shock from a device and suffer no permanent damage but then get a shock from the same device in a very slightly different circumstance and then die.

There is always the problem that someone building such a device will feel the need to test it, either on themselves or another person.

Have you tried to find out what is thought of as a safe shock, and how you guarantee that this could be supplied in all circumstances. If you try to find out, you will find out that no responsible person would ever give you an answer. You may be suprised at the very small currents needed to stop your heart.

If you decide to try to continue, please at least do a bit of research first.
